Egg Drop Eggsperience
To support teachers and students as they explore science learning related to gravity, acceleration of a mass when falling, wind resistance and take this into consideration when designing and building a structure into which a raw egg is inserted and dropped from a height. The object is to have the egg survive the drop. TFABC will provides suitable participation prizes for the event.
In 2023 TFABC launched the Egg Drop Egg-sperience, with 351 students and 3 elementary schools engaged in the 2023 – 2024 school year. The number grew to 366 students and 8 schools in 2024 – 2025 and XXX in 2025 – 2026.
The Gibsons and Sechelt Fire Services are key partners with the Egg Drop, bringing their ladder trucks and several fire fighters to each Drop. The fire fighters joined in at each of the Drops, adding their sizzle to the events. Their resourcefulness and community engagement is superb.
